Accessibility Statement
What we have built in, what we have not, and how to reach a person if something on this site blocks you.
Version 2026-09-01 · config revision 0
We are aiming at WCAG 2.2 AA for this site, the invitation pages and your account. The invitation page especially: it is used by hundreds of people who never chose us, on whatever device they happen to have.
What we have built in
- Player identity is never colour alone. Every station carries its numeral, on the screen, on the sticker and in the leaderboard — so the four player colours are distinguishable under deuteranopia and protanopia. This one is not switchable off.
- Reduced-flashing mode genuinely removes or dampens flashing effects rather than warning you about them. Games that flash declare it, and you can see which on each game’s page.
- One-button playability. Every game in the catalog is playable with the stick and one big button. Nothing needs a combination or fast, precise input to take part.
- Difficulty profiles. Speed, target size and timing windows adjust per game, and per station where a game allows it, so a five-year-old and a ten-year-old can play the same round.
- Keyboard paths, visible focus, real form labels and text alternatives across the site.
- Reduced-motion preferences are respected — animation stops when your system asks it to.
Known limitations
- The console is a game running on a TV. It gets a best-effort standard rather than a full conformance claim, and we say so rather than implying otherwise.
- Audio cues have visual equivalents, but a small number of games lean on sound for timing. We are working through those.
- The arcade stations are a physical product with physical controls. They need hand and arm movement, and we have no adaptive-controller support yet. If that is what you need, write to us — Bashcade Lite may work better, and we would rather help you than sell you the box.
Tell us what is broken
help@bashcade.com, subject line “accessibility”. A real person reads it, we will tell you what we can fix and when, and we will give you a way through in the meantime. If something on this site blocks you today, say so and we will book your party by hand.
